What can I do with Wiser?
Wiser is a social media platform for sharing and collecting wisdom!
Sharing a bit of wisdom, or "wisbit" is as easy as writing a tweet.
Here is some useful information for getting started:
Browsing
Browse wisbits by clicking the categories button in the navigation bar. You can click "Newest Wisdom" to
refresh the page and see the 20 newest wisbits.
Creating a Wisbit
Wisbits can be advice, a mantra, a lyric, or any number of other forms of wisdom. Before creating a wisbit, think about things you've learned that have been useful in your life.
To create a wisbit, click the "create wisbit" button in the navigation bar.
*When creating a wisbit, you may feel that the list of categories does not contain an ideal category for your wisdom. In this case, select the category named, "other". Wisbits in the "other" category will be reviewed and automatically placed in an appropriate category if one is created.
Ranking System
Wisbits are automatically ranked by several factors including: number of favorites, comments, and endorsements (coming soon).
If a wisbit is popular, it will be highlighted in yellow and have the "bulb" badge.
Commenting
Comments should be courteous and well-thought-out. A wisbit is ranked by the number of favorites and comments it receives. Therefore, if you disagree with a wisbit, your best
course of action is to create your own alternative wisbit, which may gain traction and win in the battle of ideas!
Demographic Information
You have the option to include demographic information when you create or endorse a wisbit. This allows users to better understand the context
of the wisdom.
Language Policy
Wisbits and comments may include explicit language within reason, but gratuitous use of explicit language may result in suspension of your account.
Privacy Information
Wiser sign-up is secure. We use Google OAuth 2.0.
We consider Wiser to be a not-for-profit public utility and therefore, we will not sell your information to third parties.
